The Commons at Ballard

Seattle, WA

Blueline provided civil engineering services for this 2-building podium-style mixed-use project. Onsite improvements included new utility design to the site, including undergrounding of all overhead power and communication lines, as well as Low Impact Development stormwater infrastructure including roof-top bioretention, green roofs, and a rainwater harvesting system. 2016 Citywide School Walk Route Enhancements

Kirkland, WA

The Citywide School Walk Route Enhancement Program focuses on improving conditions for and encouraging children to walk and bike to school. This program, which involves improving sidewalks and associated safety features of all identified school walk route segments, has been a long-standing priority of the Kirkland City Council and a fundamental part of the City of Kirkland’s overall vision. Blueline completed design of ADA-compliant sidewalks, curb and gutter, and drainage improvements along several blocks of 126th Avenue NE. The improvements address immediate pedestrian safety problems and provide connectivity between already completed pedestrian projects on either side of this project site.

Bothell, WA

Multiway Boulevard Phase 1-W is a part of Bothell's Downtown Revitalization Plan, which encourages local business development and growth. Blueline provided construction administration and inspection services for $5M of roadway improvements along four blocks of Bothell Way. The project included boulevard style improvements, adding drive lanes and parking stalls, sidewalks, ADA ramps, utility replacements and extensions, rain gardens, street lighting, and traffic signalization. The project required extensive coordination with five adjacent projects also in construction, including the realignment of SR522, as well as overseeing the removal and replacement of unsuitable and contaminated soils.

Blueline designed a 157-lot community with an internal park for this D.R. Horton neighborhood located minutes from I-405. Blueline’s services included initial site design, presenting at the neighborhood meeting, preparing the preliminary plat submittal package, presenting at the public hearing, and creating the site development plans for the infrastructure improvements. Blueline also designed a new sewer lift station to comply with the Woodinville Water District service boundary, upgraded the frontage along 124th Ave NE to add a center turn lane, a walking path on the west side and a new sidewalk on the east side, created a state of the art Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) crosswalk to increase safety for school children, and provided a new road connection to the adjacent neighborhood to provide better access for emergency vehicles.
