Citywide School Walk Route Enhancements

Kirkland's Citywide School Walk Route Enhancement Program focuses on improving conditions for and encouraging children to walk and bike to school. This program, which involves improving sidewalks and associated safety features of identified school walk route segments, has been a long-standing priority of the Kirkland City Council and a fundamental part of the City of Kirkland’s overall vision. Blueline completed design of ADA-compliant sidewalks and ramps, plus curb and gutter and drainage improvements along several blocks of 126th Avenue NE. The improvements addressed immediate pedestrian safety problems and provided connectivity between existing sidewalks on either end of this project site.
