Avaya Ridge

Blueline was the landscape architect for a 2-acre public open space with trail system on a sensitive site adjacent to a new multifamily housing development and two public roads. The site was an undeveloped third-growth forest area with several steep slopes bisected by a stream corridor and buffer with significant native trees and understory vegetation, and also Himalayan Blackberry. The trail system includes a variety of surfacing materials on varying terrain, and several user amenities. A trail footbridge across the stream was required to connect the open space to the housing development. The stream buffer was enhanced by eradication of Blackberry, removal of unhealthy and hazard trees, and supplemental native understory plantings.
