Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors
In 2019, Blueline formed a Board of Directors to guide strategic growth. The board consists of two members of Blueline’s leadership group, Brian Darrow, PE, President and CEO, and Principal Todd Oberg, PE; along with two external industry leaders, A-P Hurd, President of SkipStone, and Michael Crill, Managing Director of Atlas Accelerator. Blueline’s external directors will bring an objective, independent view to internal and external corporate initiatives.
“As Blueline continues to grow into unchartered territory, we wanted to have some outside counsel to help guide us along the way. We wanted people who have "been there, done that", so leadership makes educated decisions on the direction of the company.”
- Brian Darrow, President and CEO

Gavin Castaneda
Landscape Designer
Born and raised in western Washington, Gavin chose to attend WSU to get as far from his hometown as possible while still paying in-state tuition. This ended up being an excellent decision on his part since WSU is where he discovered landscape architecture. Almost immediately, he was enamored by the range of work and impact this profession can have socially, environmentally, and holistically throughout the built environment. Not only is the work mentally challenging, but it is also rewarding. Knowing that your work as a landscape architect/designer could positively impact someone's life and the environment we all share is his favorite part. Gavin has a self-described obsessive level of attention to detail (both professionally & personally) and loves picking apart designs. Not only is critical thinking/collaboration the most effective way to come up with the best possible design solution, but it is also his favorite way to learn. Gavin credits a great deal of his continued success and love for landscape architecture to his good friend and mentor, Jena Jauchius, who has been a valued and irreplaceable ally throughout his education and career.

Grace Manning
Landscape Designer
Originally from Philadelphia (the land of cheesesteaks and soft pretzels), Grace graduated with a BS in Landscape Architecture from Temple University's Ambler Arboretum campus. After getting her degree, Grace knew she wanted to move to the West Coast and get a different experience from where she was raised. She landed her first professional position at a small landscape architecture firm just south of the San Francisco Bay Area. After working on residential home design in Silicon Valley, Grace was looking for a change of pace (and somewhere with a little less wildfire) which led her to the PNW and to Blueline as a Landscape Designer. Grace loved plants and how they interact with each other - she believes that the key to a long-lasting landscape is knowing the right plant for the right place. To her, landscape is something meant to last multiple generations. Grace's goal is to positively impact the environment through her work and to leave this planet in a better condition for future generations. She truly believes the improving the land also inevitably improves the lives of people that interact with it, and she is excited to be doing just that at Blueline.
